the equipment

We take great pride in the knowledge that our equipment is among the finest available.  We are able to provide a wide range of services, from emergency ambulance response and patient transport, to specialized rescue operations, including auto extrication, confined space, high angle and water rescue.  Perhaps our greatest pride however, lies in the fact that not $1 of taxpayer money is used to purchase any of our equipment!  Our ability to provide quality emergency and rescue services while employing leading edge techniques and technology, is a true testament to the generosity of the residents of Nutley.

Full service ambulances

Our state-of-the-art fleet consists of three, state certified, full-service ambulances.

rescue and rehab operations

Additional support for our rescue crews and the  township fire department are provided by our light duty rescue response and rehabilitation vehicles.

water rescue

With a river at our eastern border, and nearby townships with significant flood zones, our water rescue equipment is an essential component of our disaster preparedness and response capabilities.

The Membership

Our members range in age from 16-93, and all contribute

to the ongoing success of our organization.

From the high school student that joined last week, to the "old timer" that joined in 1955, our membership is comprised of a wide array of dedicated individuals with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Although their years of experience may differ greatly, all members share a common desire to give back to the community.  There is no pay, but the rewards are countless.

Our members commit a minimum of 12 hours per week to active duty.  However, their commitment doesn't end there.  Quite often, their dedication and desire to contribute and grow within the organization lead to additional time spent "giving".

Whether training, providing stand-by support at a town event, or simply spending time at "the squad", a strong sense of family exists at our core. The memories are many, and the friendships forged withstand the test of time.

what we do

Our members commit a minimum of 12 hours per week to active duty.  However, their commitment doesn't end there.  Quite often, their dedication and desire to contribute and grow within the organization lead to additional time spent "giving".  Ongoing training, fund raising, maintenance, public relations and administrative duties are all necessary to ensure the future success of N.V.E.R.S.

training

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Continuing education is essential to providing the best possible care to the township of Nutley and surrounding communities.  In-house, online, and classroom training are regularly offered to all members.  Training enables members to learn and develop new skills while keeping existing ones sharp.
